Online poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many variations on the first poker game have been developed, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling blackjack than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the casino instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little conniving or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up just before the croupier declares "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the house and of course every one of the other gamblers receive 5 cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank’s first card, you have to either make a call bet or accede. The call bet’s value is akin to your original ante, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your ante goes directly to the bank. After the bet is the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is returned, including a figure on par with the original wager. If the dealer does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The bank pays out money even with your initial bet and set odds on your call wager. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
