Online poker has become globally acclaimed lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, arcs back quite a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous types on the first poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling vingt-et-un than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the bank instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the different gamblers acquire five cards. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s first card, you have to in turn make a call bet or accede. The call wager’s value is akin to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your wager goes immediately to the bank. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, plus an amount equal to the initial bet. If the house does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The bank pays money even with your bet and set odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
