Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandfather taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover whatever he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people annihilate his dream of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.
Phil started competing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated a number of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable passion for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is quite humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making errors every single game of poker and constantly aspires to improve.
Although Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
