Poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years numerous variants on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely resembling chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the house rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or other types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the croupier announcing "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course every one of the other players acquire five cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s initial card, you must either make a call wager or bow out. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your original ante, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your bet goes directly to the bank. After the bet comes the face off. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus an amount in accordance with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pays cash equal to your ante and set odds on your call bet. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
