Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only player to achieve last table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest players around the world. While wagering on web poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. Gus regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I accept that Hansen is an excellent poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is broke, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the best players in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amt.. I think tv can skew our view of the real world every now and then. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in big stakes omaha/8 and hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his skills in money rounds?
