Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the final table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest bettors around the world. While competing in web poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Gus generally buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He waits for a good hand and then pushes all in. I know Hansen is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless he is bankrupt, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the min takes a majority of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt.. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be seen wagering on web poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha high and Holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his skills in cash rounds?
