Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to make it to the final table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest gamblers anywhere in the world. While playing online poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus often plays in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all-in. I know Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Playing for the min takes most of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best poker players in the world might just be players you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be found gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He generally competes in big stakes Omaha and texas holdem. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash rounds?
