Online poker has become world famous as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many variants on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little bluffing or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No more bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the different gamblers receive five cards. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you need to in turn make a call bet or surrender. The call bet’s value is equal to your beginning wager, which means that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your bet goes directly to the house. After the wager is the conclusion. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is returned, plus a figure on par with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays money equal to your bet and controlled expectations on your call wager. These odds are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- two to one for two pairs
- 3-1 for 3 of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
